INDIAN IVY

2015
oil, acrylic, oil bar, and oil pastel on linen

Sparse interior spaces resonate with a psychological incompleteness in the paintings of British artist Nick Goss. In this work, Goss uses a number of media to render the setting on raw linen, and it appears as if the scene is either coming into being or disappearing with the passage of time. Roughly sketched out and crudely rendered, details are sparse, yet deliberate – a tiled wall, potted plant, and bottle evoke a quiet scene that is both beautiful and mysterious. Goss has exhibited his work throughout Europe and the US.
