Tony Horton’s creative output includes painting, custom furniture, wall installations, and sculpture, seen here in Weaver’s Dream. In this precise, yet sensuous sculpture, Horton uses bent plywood, a signature material in his other designs, to create a perfectly woven panel of horizontal and vertical elements. Though typically hard and straight-edged, here the plywood becomes supple, fluid, and undulating. Typical of Horton’s work, the sculpture takes a distinctively modern material and imbues it with a subtle, organic design to produce a uniquely contemporary work.
The sculpture is offered in limited edition of 21 pieces. Tony Horton Collection will donate $10,000 to the Dallas Museum of Art for any additional piece sold through the gallery for full price, from now until the show ends in October.
