British artist Terry Haggerty paints meticulous works that toy with the viewer’s perception of space. Elements of Minimalism and Op Art permeate his works on canvas, as well as his wall works. In Embrace, Haggerty creates an elegant optical tension through illusory folds that warp and twist around the canvas. Locally, Haggerty’s work was the subject of a Focus show at the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth, and one of his wall drawings can be seen at AT&T Stadium in Arlington. He has exhibited widely at galleries and museums around the world, including Hammer Museum, Los Angeles; The Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum, Ridgefield; PS1, Long Island City; and Dallas Museum of Art. He is the recipient of several awards, including the FOR-SITE Foundation Award (2009), John Anson Kittredge Award (2003), and the NatWest Art Prize (1999).
