Leif Ritchey creates a language of painting that melds non-linear narratives with emotive ideas through abstraction. In Bermuda, Ritchey embraces the muted palette, and he incorporates textural elements in his work, such as the green and white imprints of a mysterious object, that give this two-dimensional work a sculptural presence. The painting’s composition is subdued, yet active, inducing a subconscious sensation that slowly manifests itself for the viewer. Ritchey lives and works in Ann Arbor. His work has been the subject of solo exhibitions in Los Angeles, New York, Brooklyn, and Paris.
