Through a meticulous painting technique and a style that suggests historical paintings, Colombian artist Rodrigo Facundo conjures imagined worlds where humans and nature live in a nostalgic harmony. In this work, a female figure is surrounded by flora, fauna, and minerals. She looks out onto an idyllic landscape where a ship gently glides by, suggesting devotion to a past era where man and nature were more deeply connected. Since he began his career as an artist, Facundo has received important scholarships, awards, and mentions. His work is included in renowned public and private collections in Colombia, Latin America, and Europe, including the Banco de la República, Bogotá; the Bogotá Museum of Modern Art; the Bogotá Museum of Contemporary Art; the Patricia Phelps de Cisneros Collection (CPPC), Caracas and New York; and Brondesbury Holdings, Caracas.
