LA-based Lisa Williamson distils and simplifies her subjects until they become totemic, minimal forms. The human scale, regular geometry, and pristine fabrication recall familiar domestic objects – like a door, ladder, or beam – without actually naming them, seen here in Port (Grey). The circular openings and muted colors contribute to a sculpture that is truly thoughtful and utterly compelling. Williamson has participated in group shows at galleries and museums throughout the US.
