In these enigmatic photos, Quinn Tivey offers the viewer images of two stuffed envelopes and a cryptic description of their contents. The work is from his recent Homemade series, which depicts a collection of homemade 8mm pornographic movies, believed to have been produced in the late 1960s. The filmstrips, however, are carefully concealed, and their salacious content only hinted at through text. The viewer is thereby left to create the images and actions in their mind, prompted by a few choice words and blank white envelope. Tivey is currently an MFA candidate at School of Visual Arts in New York.
