Emily Eveleth’s possesses an unceasing dedication to the donut as the subject of her drawings and paintings. Her works contain elements of traditional still life and portraiture, seen here in the stack of cracked, broken pastries. The drawing appears absolutely human, and the donuts conjure an amazing amount of empathy through their limp, sagging presence. Eveleth has exhibited in galleries around the country, and her work is in the collection of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, among others.
