Sebastian Black focuses on making careful geometric abstractions and sculptural forms inspired by fabricated materials and every-day objects. His visual language is a very specific organic and geometric, Modernist structure with a decidedly fresh appearance. In Machine for Benefit, a confluence of undulating teardrop-shaped forms appears to seamlessly fit within the whole composition. The work’s confident and playful design translates to a rhythmic jaunt through its well-placed parts. Solo exhibitions of Black’s work have been held at galleries in the US and Europe.
