CAUGHT IN A DREAM

2015
ink on paper
32 x 24 inches

Obsessive, intricate, and painstakingly rendered, Robert Lansden’s drawings boggle the mind. His patterns look like fabric, computer graphics, and architectural plans, though they move far beyond a straightforward depiction. Caught in a Dream features a composition of lines that radiate out from the center to create four triangles. The loose weave of the strands undulates, activating the surface and moving the eye around the drawing in surprising ways. Lansden lives and works in Stamford, Connecticut and his work has been exhibited throughout the US.
