John-Paul Philippe creates simply elegant paintings inspired by design. Similar to a jig-saw puzzle, Philippe visually constructs a portrait-like structure using a rich variety of organic shapes. Here, soft greys are used to guide the viewer around a complex, yet intimate composition. John-Paul Philippe was born in Oklahoma and is currently living and working in New York. His work has been exhibited at venues in Japan, England, New York, Dominican Republic, and South Korea.
