A variety of working methods encompass Liam Everett’s practice – sculpture, performance, and painting, among them. In his two-dimensional works, abstract surfaces appear as the result of a continuous process of adding, erasing, soaking, and staining. His use of non-art materials (alcohol and salt in this untitled work) adds to his experimental way of working, and it produces an ephemeral abstract composition that seems to be disappearing right in front of our eyes. Liam Everett currently lives and works in San Francisco. Recent projects include solo exhibitions at Paul Kasmin, New York; White Columns, New York; and The Künstlerhaus, Bremen.
