The NAE geometric figure was created by the arbitrary intersection of a circle and a rectangle. This figure has the potential to perform vastly various functions depending on its scale. — Piero Golia and Sarah Lehrer-Graiwer

The work of Italian artist Piero Golia challenges the systems of art, viewership, and the object. Verde Guatemala NAE Bowl is based on his design for his New Atlantis Enterprise, a corporate business “devoted to quality, objectivity, and integrity” that “provides enduring solutions for extraordinary needs.” Golia’s bowl highlights the simplicity of design he exhibits in many of his works, while showcasing the beauty of the green marble and the polished surfaces of the exterior and interior form. Golia’s work has been shown in major exhibitions in the United States and Europe, and he was included in the 55th Venice Biennale. His Chalet Dallas is currently on view at the Nasher Sculpture Center.
